In between watching for wood mice, hedgehogs and of course foxes, I've been noticing more changes in the pondlife. The tadpoles are metamorphosing into froglets. There were several on the pond edge tonight, clinging to the sloping side. They still have the tadpole tail, but their legs are taking on the distinctive look of the mature frog, and their eyes are well developed and the gold outer ring of the eye is visible.
