The Pied Wagtail is one of my favourite small birds and I often them flitting around low to the ground under trees and on grassland. They move quickly and constantly, providing a challenge for the camera. These photos were taken during a chance few minutes where a pair were flitting over some rubble behind a steel 'site cage' which is visible in some of the shots. The second sequence of shots was taken several months later and shows a pied wagtail catching flies. The shots were taken over aperiod of about 20 minutes and featured many blank brick walls. They move fast! The third sequence was taken at a local dewpond in July 2008. |
